Dr Donny Mandrawa
General Dentist
Gender: Male
Languages Spoken: English, Indonesian

Dr. Donny Mandrawa graduated in 1998 from The University of Melbourne Dental School. He undertook part of his studies at The University of Minnesota, U.S.A. Due to his impressive clinical accomplishments, he was immediately offered a position to work in Western Australia by a leading prosthodontist (crown and bridge specialist), Dr. Timothy Yuen. There he gained expansive experience that substantially improved his credentials as a dentist.

Consequently, when he returned to Melbourne, he began working at the prestigious The Dental Group Dingley and Bayside. His dental interests then began to widen into full-face orthodontics (braces, face and jaw developments).

In his pursuit of knowledge, he began to further his studies under international orthodontic leaders, like Dr. Skipp Truitt, Dr. Derek Mahony, and Dr. Brock Rondeau. He completed the mini residency courses with each one of them.

In 2002, he traveled to India to treat orphaned Tibetan children in Dharmsala, voluntarily for a few weeks. With Dr. Nomita Gonsalvez, and under the Rotary Club, they helped to improve and educate the dental status of the local community, visiting Tibetan schools around North India and even meeting with the Dalai Lama.

His continuing passion has encouraged him to broaden his skills into neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry, where he attended the influential Las Vegas Institute, the mini residency of Dr. Steven Olmos, and countless continuing education courses of Dr. Jeffrey Okeson, Dr. Galip Gurel, Dr. Terry Wong, and Dr. Steven Lee to name a few. He is also now accredited to treat patients using the Invisalign system, where clear mouthguards are worn instead of braces to straighten teeth.

He has also recently completed an intensive 6-day workshop of dental implant surgery, under the teaching and instructions of internationally acclaimed periodontist, Professor Robert London, from Seattle, USA. Through the week long session, he managed to place 25 dental implants, performed sinus lift and bone grafting surgeries, and acquired a long term association with the Biomet 3i dental implant system.

He finds dentistry to be gratifying, and is determined to aspire further in this field he loves. He hopes that his two daughters will develop a sense of determination and achievement that he has, and that they will grow into well-grounded and inspiring individuals.
